Rwanda

Rwanda, the Singapore of Africa!

Rwanda is often associated with the terrible genocide of 1994, which left the remaining traumatized population in a devastated country, both economically as demographically. However, the country has undergone a massive transformation in less than 25 years, with Rwanda today often mentioned as one of the most promising African economies. How is that possible?

Well, there is little crime, corruption is even lower than in some European countries, the infrastructure is fantastic and the middle class is growing so that international companies see Rwanda as an interesting market. Despite the fact that Rwanda is landlocked, the country is increasingly seen as an economic "hub" in the region and scores very high in the ease of doing business index of the World Bank (No. 29 out of 190!). Therefore, Rwanda is often named as the Singapore of Africa!
