Structure as a basis for cooperation
After the successful assignment from André Mouton at the Katikamu Poultry Cooperative in Jinja, it was time to thoroughly tackle the structure of the cooperative. That is why Noël Keersebilck, who has a great deal of experience in the cooperative world, was appointed as coach. Noël immediately went to Uganda to thoroughly investigate the cooperative and make recommendations.
To get to know the cooperative well enough, Noël first and foremost visited some of its members. The organization consists of both large and small chicken farmers, so it was important to visit a representative section.
At the end of his assignment, Noël took ample time to discuss his recommendations with the cooperative's board of directors and to propose a step-by-step plan. In a first phase, the cooperative itself must start setting up various committees that will be responsible for day-to-day management, financial control and the quality of the supplied products. The start of a successful story?
