New BDM Rwanda: Igor Kana

Igor Kana lives with his wife and three children in Kigali, where he recently started his work as BDM for Exchange. In his previous role, also as Business Development Manager, Igor collaborated with his colleagues to establish and oversee a multivendor online business in Rwanda. Prior to that he served as Chief Operating Officer, spearheading transformative initiatives within Rwanda's leading retail and technology provider and facilitating organizational change processes. This involved defining a value proposition, devising tailored business models, and implementing strategies in collaboration with senior leadership.

Apart from his work for Exchange, Igor serves as the Country Manager for SPARK Rwanda, an international NGO dedicated to empowering youth and women in entrepreneurship and higher education. Throughout his career, he has been motivated by a commitment to finding sustainable solutions for businesses operating in fragile ecosystems. This aligns closely with Exchange's vision and strategy. Additionally, Igor possesses a strong interest in translating strategic objectives into organizational processes and practices, and is eager to contribute to Exchange's vision from this perspective.

New BDM Tanzania: Makambi Kihomano

Makambi Kihomano, born in 1994 in Iringa and raised in Arusha, is a dynamic and results-oriented individual with over six years of experience in sales, management, and leadership within the African market. His journey has been marked by significant contributions to the growth and success of international software as a service (Saas) start-ups such as Ontop and Curacel, backed by renowned entities like Y Combinator, Google, and Tencent.

Adept at cultivating and managing robust customer relationships, Makambi excels in negotiating contracts and propelling sales expansion. His passion lies in collaborating with innovative startups and guiding them toward achieving their goals. Driven by a deep-rooted desire to empower fellow Africans, His is a proud alumnus of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI). Makambi holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science from Zhejiang University, adding a solid technical foundation to his skill set.

Fluent in English and Swahili, his native language, Makambi, also speaks Chinese and is committed to learning Russian. Beyond his professional pursuits, he enjoys spending quality time with his family and engaging in recreational activities during his free time. An ardent chess player, avid hiker, and badminton enthusiast, Makambi Kihomano balances his high-energy professional life with a vibrant array of personal interests.
